Yang Ming Marine Transport plans to launch the second East Mediterranean feeder service - TIX2 - in January 2009.
This service will further strengthen Yang Ming's network, broaden its service scope and reduce its transhipment costs.
Yang Ming plans to deploy two 1,800 TEU vessels on the new weekly TIX2 service, which will call at Port Said, Istanbul, Haydarpasa, Izmir and Ashdod.
The TIX2 service will join the existing weekly TIX service, which deploys one 1,200 TEU vessel calling at Port Said, Ashdod and Mersin.
With these two own feeder services in the East Mediterranean area, Yang Ming will be capable of providing a reliable connection at Port Said with its direct services from Asia to the West Mediterranean or to Northern Europe, which carry the East Mediterranean transhipment cargo.
This not only strengthens its feeder network in the East Mediterranean, but also opens up business opportunities for intra-Europe traffic.
Evergreen will enhance its North China service network by adding Tianjin into its China-South US West Coast-China Service (CPS) from early-January.
The 6,332 TEU Hatsu Envoy will start on January 2nd from Tianjin, operating a weekly service with the following port rotation: Tianjin > Shanghai > Ningbo > Qingdao > Los Angeles > Oakland > Tianjin.
