Turkish Airlines has signed a firm order for the purchase of two A330-200 Freighter aircraft, becoming Airbus's tenth customer for a total of 69 aircraft of this type.
The aircraft will join Turkish Airlines' existing freighter fleet of four Airbus A310s from Autumn 2010, and will support the airline's ambitious plans to expand its cargo operations.
The A330-200 Freighter made its first flight on November 5th and is on track for certification and deliveries starting in 2010.
The Airbus Global Market Forecast predicts a need for more than 1,600 mid-sized freighters in the next twenty years.
