Kuehne + Nagel will provide logistics services for BHS in the UK; PLS Logistics will manage rail shipments for Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties in the US.
BHS has chosen Kuehne + Nagel to provide delivery of furniture to customers' homes.
Under the new agreement with BHS, Kuehne + Nagel will receive goods from manufacturers and store them at its shared-user facility at Dove Valley, Derbyshire.
Kuehne + Nagel will also provide a ‘white-glove' delivery and assembly service direct to customers, and will also manage call centre activities to handle customer service on behalf of BHS.
PLS Logistics Services has entered into an agreement with Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties to manage all of the inbound and outbound magnesium hydroxide slurry rail shipments at the company's Manistee (Michigan) location.
PLS will forecast and plan appropriate railcar capacity for Martin Marietta's shipping requirements, monitoring both loaded and empty railcars in the company's private fleet.
