OOCL has announced the launch of a new Indian Subcontinent East Coast Express (IEX) service, connecting India and Pakistan to the US East Coast.
This direct weekly service is in response to increased customer demands for a quality service to and from this fast-growing market, and to provide additional capacity from the US East Coast to India, Pakistan and Jeddah.
The IEX service is scheduled to begin with a departure from Karachi on August 8th.
The service will have a fixed weekly schedule with the following port rotation: Karachi > Nhava Sheva > Mundra > Damietta > New York > Norfolk > Charleston > Port Said > Jeddah > Karachi.
Lufthansa Cargo has increased its freight capacities ex Frankfurt to the Brazilian metropolis of Curitiba (CWB).
The existing Saturday flight is now augmented by an additional connection at 22h40 hours on Wednesdays. The new service is operated with a Boeing 747-400F by World Airways.
The freighter connections to Curitiba are jointly operated by Lufthansa Cargo and its Lufthansa Cargo Charter subsidiary, which charters the airfreight capacity. Lufthansa Cargo markets the Saturday flight from Frankfurt via Sao Paulo/Viracopos (VCP), while Lufthansa Cargo Charter is responsible for the route ex South America. The additional routing to Curitiba on Wednesdays is marketed entirely by Lufthansa Cargo.
Lufthansa Cargo also serves the South American market with its own freighter flights to Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo/Viracopos as well as with belly capacity on Lufthansa passenger flights to Sao Paulo/Guarulhos, Caracas and Buenos Aires.
