In response to customer demand for affordable, exact-day intermodal delivery, MOL will launch its new Gator Guarantee service on May 1st.
Gator Guarantee will provide customers with a service guarantee on MOL's own vessel strings - the Pacific Southwest Express (PSX) and Japan-American Shuttle (JAS).
In co-operation with BNSF, the guaranteed service will be offered to major US destinations, including New York, Chicago, Memphis, Dallas and Atlanta.
Under the Gator Guarantee agreement, MOL will deliver, in return for a reasonable fee, cargo by the stated date. Should MOL fail to deliver according to the agreed terms, MOL will provide a full fee refund as well as an additional compensatory amount.
The new JAS service port rotation is: Osaka > Kobe > Nagoya > Shimizu > Tokyo > Los Angeles > Oakland > Tacoma > Vancouver > Tokyo > Osaka
"In today's economic climate, shippers are concerned with consistently meeting their delivery deadlines," said Tsuyoshi Yoshida, executive vice president, MOL Trade Management. "After analysing the market, we felt that there was a real need for a more cost-effective, time-definite service."
