FreightScan establishes footprint in Asia-Pacific

FreightScan recently completed a series of evaluations of its FS100 automated cargo scanning system, including with a major US air carrier in Japan and large-scale handlers in Bangkok, Thailand and Shenzhen, China.

Additional evaluations for air carriers in Singapore and Japan are scheduled throughout the rest of this month.

According to FreightScan CEO André Johnson, these first evaluations represent the next step in establishing FreightScan's footprint in the Asia-Pacific region.

FreightScan has signed agreements with Cargo Engineering Japan to dedicate a local business development team to working with customers in Japan.

In addition, a regional manager based in Singapore will work throughout the rest of Asia, with field application services being provided to the Asia-Pacific market by Certosa Express International, a Hong Kong-based logistics support company. Certosa will work with FreightScan to service and install FS100 dimensioning systems, providing 24/7 swap replacement services throughout China and Asia through a network of eleven strategic stocking locations.

FreightScan already has several pilot programs and evaluations taking place throughout North America and is in the process of developing partnerships to handle its scanning systems for the automated dimming of cargo in Latin America, Europe and India.
