FedEx expands facilities in France and Mexico

FedEx Express has completed two significant infrastructure projects within its global network: the expansion of its European Hub at Charles de Gaulle in Paris, France and the expansion of its bonded warehouse at Guadalajara International Airport in Jalisco, Mexico.

Volumes at the FedEx Express European Hub at Charles de Gaulle have almost doubled since the facility opened in 1999.

Handling 300 flights per week, the 77,000 m2 facility's sort area has been increased from 50,000 m2 to 72,000 m2, making it the largest FedEx hub outside the US.

The bonded warehouse at the Guadalajara International Airport in Mexico has been expanded to almost double its original size.

With storage capacity increased by 83% and a sorting capacity of 4,000 packages per hour, the 4,000 m2 expansion cuts shipment processing time by up to 40%.

Additional space for package examination by customs brokers improves the efficiency of the customs clearance process, and technology speeds up processing, with same-day delivery of inbound shipments and faster outbound freight delivery.
