eyefortransport announces 3PL Award winners

The winners for this year's 3PL awards were announced during an awards reception at eyefortransport's 7th annual 3PL Summit in Atlanta, Georgia on June 25th.

Each year the eyefortransport 3PL Awards aim to recognise those 3PLs that continuously deliver excellence in logistics operations and superior service to their customers.

The awards are decided by 3PL customers - the manufacturers and retailers who depend on and work with logistics service providers every day.

As such, these awards take on a special significance, and the winners can feel confident in the knowledge that their customers have chosen them as best of breed partners in supply chain excellence.

"With the largest response rate to date, we were very excited to announce this year's winners. The increase of participants responding exemplifies the support and satisfaction of the companies which depend on the 3PL providers" said Chris Saynor, CEO of eyefortransport. "We strive to recognise those companies which diligently work to provide consistently excellent logistics operations and superior service to their customers."

"Recognising superior service within the industry is very important to us at eyefortransport, and we were very pleased with the outcome of this year's awards," said Katharine O'Reilly, senior vice president of Research at eyefortransport. "This type of award is important to the companies as well, as they know their own customers chose them for the superior service they provided."

On receiving this year's 3PL Executive Excellence Award, John Williford, president of Global Supply Chain Solutions for Ryder System, spoke about why this recession has not resulted in the same increase in outsourcing that the industry has seen in the past.  His remarks reinforced those of event keynotes Tom Schmitt, president & CEO of FedEx Global Supply Chain Solutions, and Rolf Habben Jansen, CEO of Damco (Maersk), who talked about the recession's effects on their business strategies and their plans for recovery.

eyefortransport looks forward to next year's 8th 3PL Summit and awards ceremony, which is scheduled for 21- 23 June 2010 in Atlanta, where the 3PLs who best lead their customers through recession and towards recovery will be recognised.
