IDENTEC Solutions' active RFID technology has been selected for truck identification and access control at DP World's three Australian container terminals.
IDENTEC, in conjunction with Sydney-based system integrator, RAMP, will deploy the active RFID-based solution including long-range tags, readers and integration software.
The first deployment has already been completed at the Port Botany terminal in Sydney, and will be rolled out to DP World's Brisbane and Freemantle sites during the next six months.
Prior to the award, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS undertook a rigorous proof-of-concept test that was evaluated by DP World's Australian operations teams.
This is IDENTEC's second major award from DP World for RFID-enabled gate automation; the first was for the Jebel Ali container terminals in Dubai, UAE.
The Georgia Port Authority also uses an IDENTEC RFID gate solution at the Port of Savannah.
