Mozambique International Port Services (MIPS) has broken yet another record for November, moving 13,700 TEU, compared with an average of 6,000 TEU per month for the period January to June 2009.
This follows record months for August (8,500 TEU) , September (12,500 TEU) and October (11,400 TEU).
The higher volumes are due to the increased commitment by importers and exporters and services providers, as well as the increased shipping line services to the port of Maputo, and MIPS is ready to invest further to immediately refurbish cranes, expand the terminal area and install more new equipment to ensure that the terminal copes with increased container volumes through the port.

Ocean Africa Container Lines (OACL)
- Weekly feeder service to/from Durban, mainly for Maersk / Safmarine. Connects to/from worldwide services
Maersk
- Weekly M-Express service to/from Far East via Tanjung Pelepas, which can also connect to Europe, Australia, the Middle East and India
- Weekly feeder service to/from Durban with OACL connecting to/from worldwide services.
Safmarine
- Weekly Safari 3 service to/from Far East via Tanjung Pelepas, which can also connect to Europe, Australia, the Middle East and India
- Weekly feeder service to/from Durban with OACL connecting to/from worldwide services
MSC
- 10-day feeder service to/from Durban connecting to/from worldwide services
Ignazio Messina
- Fortnightly service to/from East Africa, Jeddah and Med. Can connect to the Middle East and India via Jeddah
MOL
- ISW service calling direct every ten days to/from the Far East and West Africa
CMA-CGM/Delmas
- Fortnightly WAX service to the Far East
- 10-day Mozambique Express service to/from the Far East via Port Kelang, which can also connect to Europe, Australia, the Middle East and India
MACS
- Tri-monthly feeder service to/from Durban to connect with their fortnightly UK/NWC service
Gulf Africa Line (MACS)
- Monthly direct service to/from the US Gulf
United Africa Feeder Lines
- Fortnightly multi-purpose service to/from Durban, Madagascar, Comores, Quelimane and Beira, can connect to Mauritius, Reunion, Karachi and Jebel Ali through Mutsumudu in Comores
PIL
- Fortnightly Asia Luanda (ALS) service from Singapore en route to Luanda
