From New York, shipments can be further distributed to nine other cities along the US east coast and central region within five days, for a total transit time of 31 days from Shenzhen to Baltimore, Boston, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Richmond, Rochester and Washington DC.
Operated by DHL Global Forwarding's in-house carrier, Danmar Lines, the new direct weekly LCL service reduces transit time between the two destinations by at least four days.
Not limited to traditional port-to-port service, the new LCL service also offers complete end-to-end supply chain management, including pick-up at origin, consolidation and deconsolidation, delivery at destination, customs clearance and DHL Track & Trace.
DHL recently strengthened its existing weekly Hong Kong to Los Angeles LCL direct service with an additional sailing each week to meet increasing demand for ocean freight LCL services.
Prior to the Shenzhen - New York LCL service, DHL has launched thirteen other direct LCL services from China, India, Japan and Thailand, including:
- India to the UK - Chennai to Felixstowe
- China to Europe and the US & Canada - Shenzhen to Hamburg, Genoa, Southampton, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre and Vancouver
- Japan to the US - Tokyo and Yokohama to Chicago
- Thailand to the US, Germany and Japan - Bangkok to Los Angeles, Hamburg and Tokyo
