Under this joint agreement, DHL Global Forwarding and Bangkok Flight Services will share best practices in security principles and together establish standard operations procedures for air cargo handling.
The procedures include security risk assessment, crime data analysis, infrastructure protection, pre-employment screening as well as safe and secure handling of valuable cargo.
DHL Global Forwarding uses advanced technology to assist in the security practice. Its warehouse at the Suvarnabhumi Airport Free Zone, for instance, is equipped with CCTVs that monitor inbound and outbound cargo 24 hours a day, and all employees at the site receive extensive ongoing security training.
High-value freight handled at the DHL Global Forwarding facility includes technology and pharmaceutical products and fashion items.
This partnership brings both organisations to another level of accountability in security in that they are both Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certified, which means their end-to-end supply chain activities have met Freight Security Requirements.
