The DB SCHENKERrailog service is a component of the company's land transport services, with five regions co-ordinating activities in the countries from Sweden to Italy, France to Greece and to Turkey.
DB Schenker is thus consolidating the years of experience and expertise of the companies Railog and Fertrans, and combining them with the existing rail logistics competence acquired by the country organisations.
Essentially, Schenker is integrating rail into its logistics planning and processes, assuming responsibility for all processes, from the organisation and co-ordination of pre- and post-transport processes via booking loading capacities, through to chronological sequence planning for cars and containers including customs formalities and warehousing services.
Effective April 1st, Daniel Wieland succeeded Karsten Sachsenröde to take over the responsibility for European product management at Land Transport, Schenker, Essen.
