CEVA launches another eco-hub in Italy

CEVA Logistics has announced the third building in the eco-sustainable centre of San Pietro Mosezzo, near Novara, Italy, which takes the total available space of the logistics hub to 85,000 m2.

The San Pietro Mosezzo warehouse has been fitted with a total of more than 9,600 photovoltaic panels, covering an area of 16,000 m2. The plant can produce 2,500 MWh of energy per year, saving an average of 1,300 tons of CO2 emissions a year.

The logistics hub is equipped with 98 loading bays handling approximately 25 incoming and 40 outgoing trucks each day.

Equipped with the latest IT systems and technical services for customers, CEVA's new warehouse handles approximately 35,000 products a day.

Between the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010, CEVA inaugurated two other logistics hubs at Martinengo and Pognano. By end-2010, CEVA will complete seven logistics hubs in Italy with eco-sustainable structures and will refurbish two of the existing sites to the same specification.

With a total area of 340,000 m2 and combined production of more than 17,800 MWh in solar energy, CEVA will contribute to the protection of the environment by noticeably reducing CO2 emissions by 9,500 tons each year.
